Last Ten Days Of ‪‎Ramadan‬

Ideas for the Last ten days of ‪#‎Ramadan‬:
1. Give 1 Dinar in Charity every day, So if it falls on Laylatul-Qadr it's as if u gave charity everyday for 84 years.
2. Pray two Ra'kaat everyday, So if it falls on Laylatul-Qadr it's as if u prayed everyday for 84 years.
3. Read Surah Ikhlaas three times a day, So if it falls on Laylatul-Qadr it's as if u read the whole ‪#‎Quran‬ everyday for 84 years.
Allah(SWT) make us of the victorious.

The Best Opportunity To Change Our Lives Forever

  • Have you ever felt like having fresh new start again in life? Have you ever wished that all of your past sins were wiped out like you were a new born baby?

  • Have you ever felt like you just have not done enough for the Hereafter and that you have an empty good deed account that needs filling?
  • Have you also ever wanted to really get closer to Allah and to renew & strengthen your faith?

>>> Well now is that opportunity. This is the perfect opportunity for us not only to have a fresh new start again in our lives but to have our entire lifetime sins wiped away like a new born baby and to have our good deed accounts filled to the brim! Want to make up for lost time? Well there is no better opportunity than this!

This could be our last chance!

We should firstly thank Allah (SWT) that he has given us such an amazing unique opportunity. This is a favour upon us like no other. But this may be our last chance to change. We may well not see another Ramadan. We may never get an opportunity to change ourselves for the better.

We keep procrastinating and deceiving ourselves into thinking "I got plenty of time, I'm still only young with my whole life ahead of me". Or we want to sort our careers out first, or go Hajj or Umrah first or do this first or that first.

But, How can we guarantee that we will be alive to see tomorrow let alone next week, next month, next year or the next few decades? How many of us know of people who have passed away this year of all ages, situations and circumstances? How many of us know of Muslims who did not make it to Ramadan? Therefore how can we guarantee that we will be alive next year to see another Ramadan and have another amazing opportunity like this?

Utter regret if we do not take this opportunity now!

The fact is that we CANNOT afford to miss this unique opportunity. This is an opportunity for redemption. A chance to change our lives for the better forever. All of us who know we have to change and want to change then this is that opportunity. If we don't take this opportunity now then we WILL regret it forever!

When we see what we could have had in the Hereafter we will beg Allah: "Please Oh Lord I did not know, I was too consumed into the Dunya (Worldly Life). Please send me back so that I may worship you properly and live my life devoted to you."

But we will be rejected because we only have this ONE chance! Once this chance is over then we will NEVER be able to get it back again. Therefore we CANNOT miss this one opportunity to change our lives forever. If we ever wanted to have a fresh start and get ALL of our sins wiped out then this is our chance.

If we ever wanted to gain immense rewards to fill up our good deed accounts then this is our chance.

If we ever wanted the chance to renew & strengthen our Imaan (Faith) and get closer to Allah(SWT) then this is our chance!

So we CANNOT afford to miss this opportunity for we may never get this chance again!

So let us make the commitment!

So we must make a firm commitment to change. We must look at ourselves and this life and think what is the point of chasing the worldly life when it may end any second? Will we take our possessions and hoards of wealth with us? The fact is this life compared to the Hereafter is like comparing a droplet to an ocean. There is absolutely NO comparison!

Therefore let us at this moment cleanse ourselves and fall into prostration (Sajda) to Almighty Allah(SWT) and cry and beg of him for forgiveness. Let us ask of him and I promise you he will never turn you away. He is waiting for us to turn to him so patiently. So how can we make him wait any longer. How can we risk losing this opportunity that we may NEVER get back again.

Therefore let us repent for our past and present sins right this moment and make a firm commitment to Allah(SWT) that we will devote ourselves to him and to his worship and that we will try our best to fulfill our obligations unto him and that we will try our best to do everything that pleases him and avoid anything that may anger or displease him.

Then let us devote ourselves in worship in this blessed month and cleanse our heart and souls with the worship and remembrance of Allah and recitation of the Qur'an and glorification of our Lord. Let us control our tongues and stop or significantly limit anything which may hinder our worship such as TV, Social Networks such as Facebook and Twitter and anything else that may waste a precious second in this most blessed month.

Let us worship Allah with full sincerity, hope for immense reward, forgiveness and mercy from Allah for an entire lifetime of sins and make a firm commitment that we will change ourselves for the better for the rest of the year as Ramadan is for life not just for one month.

We must remember that our time is very short and that this may well be our very last Ramadan as it was the last Ramadan for so many who thought they would make it!

So let us grab this opportunity with both hands! If we walk towards Allah then he will run towards us!

May Allah(SWT) enable us to make the best of this most blessed month and enable us to gain the maximum rewards an so that we may change our lives for the better FOREVER! Ameen

The Prophet (SAW) Sermon About "Ramadan"

Baihaqi reported on the authority of Salman Al-Farsi (Radhi Allahu‘Anh) that Prophet (‘Alaihi Salat was-Salam) delivered a sermon on the last day of the month of Sha’ban. In it he (‘Alaihi Salat was-Salam) said,

“O People! The month of Allah Ramadan has come with its mercies, blessings and forgiveness. Allah has decreed this month the best of all months. The days of this month are the best among the days and the nights are the best among the nights and the hours during Ramadan are the best among the hours. This is a month in which you have been invited by Him (to fast and pray). Allah has honored you in it. In every breath you take is a reward of Allah, your sleep is worship, your good deeds are accepted and your invocations are answered.

Therefore, you must invoke your Lord in all earnestness with hearts free from sin and evil, and pray that Allah may help you to keep fast, and to recite the Holy Qur’an. Indeed!, miserable is the one who is deprived of Allah’s forgiveness in this great month. While fasting:

  • Remember the hunger and thirst on the Day of Judgement.

  • Give alms to the poor and needy.

  •  Pay respect to your elders.

  •  Have sympathy for your youngsters and be kind towards your relatives and kinsmen.

  •  Guard your tongue against unworthy words, and your eyes from scenes that are not worth seeing (forbidden) and your ears from sounds that should not be heard.

  • Be kind to orphans so that if your children may become orphans they will also be treated with kindness.

  •  Do repent to Allah for your sins and supplicate with raised hands at the times of prayer as these are the best times, during which Allah Almighty looks at His servants with mercy. Allah Answers if they supplicate, Responds if they call, Grants if He is asked, and Accepts if they entreat.

O people! you have made your conscience the slave of your desires.Make it free by invoking Allah for forgiveness. Your back may break from the heavy load of your sins, so prostrate yourself before Allah for long intervals, and make this load lighter. Understand fully that Allah has promised in His Honor and Majesty that, people who perform Salah and sajda (prostration) will be guarded from Hell-fire on the Day of Judgement.

O people!, if anyone amongst you arranges for Iftar (meal at sunset) for any believer, Allah will reward him as if he had freed a slave, and Allah will forgive him his sins. A companion asked: “but not all of us have the means to do so” The Prophet (May Allah be pleased with him) replied: Keep yourself away from Hell-fire though it may consist of half a date or even some water if you have nothing else.

O people!, anyone who during this month cultivates good manners, will walk over the Sirat (bridge to Paradise) on the day when feet will tend to slip. For anyone who during this month eases the workload of his servants, Allah will make easy his accounting, and for anyone who doesn’t hurt others during this month, Allah will safeguard him from His Wrath on the Day of Judgement. Anyone who respects and treats an orphan with kindness during this month, Allah shall look at him with kindness on that Day. Anyone who treats his kinsmen well during this month, Allah will bestow His Mercy on him on that Day, while anyone who mistreats his kinsmen during this month, Allah will keep away from His Mercy.

Whoever offers the recommended prayers during this month, Allah will save him from Hell, and whomever observes his obligations during this month, his reward will be seventy times the reward during other months. Whoever repeatedly invokes Allah’s blessings on me, Allah will keep his scale of good deeds heavy, while the scales of others will be tending to lightness. Whomever recites during this month an Ayat (verse) of the Holy Qur’an, will get the reward of reciting the whole Qur’an in other months.

O people!, the gates of Paradise remain open during this month. Pray to your Lord that they may not be closed for you. While the gates of Hell are closed, pray to your Lord that they never open for you. Satan has been chained, invoke your Lord not to let him dominate you.”

Ali ibn Talib (RAA) said: “I asked, ‘O Messenger of Allah, what are the best deeds during this month’?” ‘He replied: ‘O Abu-Hassan, the best of deeds during this month is to be far from what Allah has forbidden’.”

With the help of Allah, try your best to follow the wonderful Tarbeeyah (advice) given to us by our Prophet (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) In sha Allah!

May Allah keep us steadfast in our A'maals and keep our intentions pure and accept our deeds in this blessed month of Mercy Insha Allah!

Save Changes After Ramadan

Just like how you strove hard to please Allah and earn His love during the month of Ramadan, Make sure you save your changes after Ramadan as well. It can never be difficult, If you strove hard and did your best to become a better and a good Muslim during Ramadan, Then why not try and do the same after Ramadan too? You are the same person who engaged in doing Amal and Ibaadat back during Ramadan, so continue with the same act of worship out side Ramadan as well Insha Allah! Where there is a will, there is a way out. So if you really want to become a better Muslim then make sure you "SAVE YOUR CHANGES" after Ramadan.

If you can pray all your five daily Salaah along with the Sunnah and Nafl Salaah, then what stops you from continuing it after Ramadan? If you spent time with the recitation of the Qu'ran during Ramadan, then what stops you from continuing with the same recitation after Ramadan? If you tried hard to avoid backbiting, fighting, lying and slandering during Ramadan, then why not continue with the same good character after Ramadan too? If you can respect your parents and elders during Ramadan, then what stops you from doing the same act all your life? If you can avoid listening to music and watching movies during Ramadan, then why not avoid that out of your life? If you engaged with Dhikr during Ramadan, then why is that you can't have your same mind in the remembrance of Allah out side of Ramadan too? If you did lower your gaze and control your evil desires during Ramadan, There is absolutely no excuse for why you cant do the same sacrifice after Ramadan too.

To conclude, If you can avoid all that Allah (swt) has prohibited for you during Ramadan, then why cant to follow and avoid the same prohibition all your life and not only during Ramadan?? For whom are we making all these sacrifices? It is for our Rabb! Our Creator! are you going to lack in anything by avoiding all that He has prohibited for us? Absolutely no. You will only find happiness and Barakaah in your life Insha Allah! I know, it can be hard to avoid all of these after having got used to it all your life, but that is exactly the reason why Allah (swt) has gifted us with the month of Ramadan, to train us become better Muslims after Ramadan too. Subhana Rabbi Al A'laa!

One way to check on if your deeds have been accepted during the month of Ramadan is to see if or not we continue with the same A'maals after Ramadan as well. So strive hard just for the sake of Allah and you'll see the lovely changes for sure Insha Allah! May Allah help you and make it easy on you.

Virtues Of I'TIKAF And Ways To Maximize It

There is no doubt that I'tikaf is a great Sunnah and the reward for it is amazing Subhanallah! I'tikaaf means to seclude oneself completely from worldly matters and remain in the masjid with prayer, worship and devotion to Allah. Az-Zuhri said: "How strange the Muslims are! They have given up I'tikaf, despite the fact that the Prophet (ﷺ), never abandoned this practice from the time he came to Madinah until his death."

What corrupts the heart more is distraction so Allah has prescribes for us certain acts of worship one such as I'tikaak during the last 10 days of Ramadan to gain His endless love and Mercy and to seek forgiveness from Him from the Adhaab of Jahannam and which helps a person to gain more strength to seek Allah and free himself from all chains of distractions which take a person from thinking of the Hereafter by occupying him with worldly concerns.

When one completely avoids himself from all worldly matters and anything that can distract the worship between him and his creator it will be more effective on him to draw himself closer to Allah and earn His soothing mercy, If a person cannot sit I'tikaf for the full ten days & nights then they should try & stay on I'tikaf on as many days & nights as they possibly can.

THE VIRTUE OF I'TIKAAF.
The benefits & rewards for sitting I'tikaf are immense:

Ali Ibn Hussain (RA) narrates from his father that Prophet (ﷺ) said:
“He who observes the ten days I’tikaf during Ramadan will obtain the reward of two Hajj & two Umrah.” - [Bayhaqi]

Abdullah bin Abbas (RA) reported that Prophet (ﷺ) said:

“Whosoever for Allah’s sake did even one days I’tikaf, Allah would keep him away from Jahannam by trenches.”- [Tabarani]
Ibn Abbas (RA) reported that the Prophet (ﷺ) said, about him who engages in I’tikaf,
“that he is safe from sin & he also gets that reward which everyone (outside I’tikaf) gets for pious deeds.” -[Ibn Majah]

What an amazing opportunity for us to gain such immense & abundant rewards and nearness towards our Rabb!. We can also take this opportunity to strengthen & boost our Imaan (faith) for the rest of the year.

Excessive Remembrance of Allah
Whilst in I'tikaf we should spend as much time as possible in the remembrance of Allah, keeping our lips moist in his glorification & praises. Surely we will have great regret in the hereafter for each second wasted without remembering Allah:Mu`adh Ibn Jabal (RA) said that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:
"The People of Paradise will not regret anything except one thing alone: the hour that passed them by in which they made no remembrance of Allah." -[Baihaqi]
The highest rank in Jannah are for those who remembered Allah the most:

Abu Sa`id (RA) narrates the Prophet (ﷺ) was asked,
"Which of the servants of Allah is best in rank before Allah on the Day of resurrection?" He said: "The ones who remember him much."I said: "O Messenger of Allah, what about the fighter in the way of Allah?" He answered: "Even if he strikes the unbelievers & mushrikin with his sword until it broke, & becomes red with their blood, truly those who do Dhikr are better than him in rank." -[Ahmad, Tirmidhi, & Bayhaqi]

Therefore we should remember Allah as much as we can & glorify him night & day, not just in Ramadan or in I'tikaf but until our very last breath. What better time to start remembering Allah more than during I'tikaf when we can sit in seclusion remembering Allah:
The following are 11 Dhikr, supported by Hadith that we can recite throughout the duration of I'tikaf:
1. Allahumma Innaka 'Afuwwun Tuhibbul 'Afwa Fa'fu 'Annee - Recite this abundantly during the last ten nights of Ramadan.

2. Subhānallāh

3. Alhamdulillāh

4. Allāhu Akbar

5. Lā ilāha illallāh

6. Lā hawla wala quwwata illā billā-hil aliyyil adheem

7. Asthaghfirullāhilladhee Lā ilāha illa-huwal Hayyul Qayyuumu Wa athoobu Ilay

8. Subhānallāhi wa bihamdihi

9. Subhāna-llāhi, wa-l-hamdu li-llāhi, wa lā ilāha illā-llāhu, wa-llāhu akbar. Wa lā hawla wa lā quwwata illā bi-llāhi-l-aliyyi-l-azīm

10. Lā ilāha illā-llāhu waḥdahu lā sharīka lahu lahu-l-mulku wa lahu-l-ḥamdu yuhyi wa yumītu wa huwa ḥayyu-llā yamūtu abadan abada, ḏū-l-jalāli wa-l-ikrām, biyadihi-l-khayr, wa huwa alā kulli Shay-in qadīrMaking Excessive Dua & Repentance

Almighty Allah says in the Qur'an:"When my servants ask you concerning me, (tell them) I am indeed close (to them). I listen to the prayer of every suppliant when he calls on me." [2:186]
The place of Dua is so high in front of Allah, that the Prophet (ﷺ) has said:"Nothing is more honourable to Allah the Most High than Dua." [Sahih al-Jami` no.5268].

Allah loves repentance & loves those who turn to him in sincere repentance, so repent unto him sincerely as much as possible:

Truly Allah loves those who turn [to Him] in repentance... (Qur'an 2:222)
Many of us rush our Dua’s & quite often our hearts are not present whilst we are making dua to Allah. That is why we lose out on much of the benefits & blessings of Dua. Therefore we should not let our minds wonder whilst in Dua & we should concentrate more, making sure our hearts are present whilst asking of Allah. Whilst we are in dua we should imagine Almighty Allah in front of us & so we should humble ourselves in front of him in a state of meekness & humility.

Let us not be of those who pass by Ramadan without gaining any forgiveness:

Rasullullah (ﷺ) said: ...the angel Jibra’il appeared before me & said: Destruction to him who found the blessed month of Ramadan & let it pass by without gaining forgiveness...’ Upon that I said: ‘Amin.’ (Al-Bukhari, Al-Tabrani)

We should ask of Allah whilst in I'tikaf to accept all of our good deeds & efforts throughout Ramadan & be hopeful that Allah will accept it from us. We should also have FULL hope that Allah will accept our Dua’s if not in this world then in the hereafter. We should accept his decree for he knows best in all matters.Practicing the Sunnah

Following the Sunnah is a command from Allah:

"Say (O Muhammad to mankind): "If you (really) love Allah, then follow me (i.e. accept Islamic monotheism, follow the Quran & the Sunnah), Allah will love you & forgive you your sins. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." (Quran: 3:31)

Almighty Allah says: “There certainly is an excellent example in Allah's messenger for he who fears Allah & the last day & remembers Allah abundantly” (al-Ahzaab 21)

By following the Sunnah in every aspect of our daily lives, everything we do will become worship, even going to the toilet, having a bath, dressing & undressing etc.

Annas (RA) reports Rasulullah (ﷺ) advised, “Whoever cherishes my Sunnah, indeed he cherishes me & whoever loves me will be with me in Jannah.” (Tirmidhi: 2678: Ibid)

EVERYTHING we do whilst in I'tikaf will become worship & reward. Doing voluntary good deeds in Ramadan carries the reward of FARD! Subhanallah!

Reviving the Sunnah:
Rasulallah (ﷺ) said: “Whoever revives an aspect of my Sunnah that is forgotten after my death, he will have a reward equivalent to that of the people who follow him, without it detracting in the least from their reward.” (Tirmidhi)

Dua's For The Three Ashra's Of Ramadan

According to a narration, Almighty Allah (SAW) has divided Ramadan in three parts and has said that the first ten days reflect the mercy of Almighty Allah; the other ten days represent forgiveness of Almighty Allah, while the last ten days represent safety from the fire of Hell. There is no doubt in the fact that Ramadan is a month of mercy and forgiveness, it also provides the opportunity for all the believers to be saved from the fire of Hell. You must strive this whole month in the true and sincere worship of the Lord which is most merciful. Although the complete month of Ramadan is a blessed one and it overflows with Grace and Mercy. A Muslim is also blessed with a night which is better than thousand months.
The word Ashra is an Arabic word, and its mean ten. There are three First, Second and Third Ashra’s of Ramadan with separate dua for each. Quran Recitationis also very importantand you must offer as much dua as possible, as Allah love the one who begs in front of him. Dua is also useful before the start of any task, or before start of any day. The first Ashra is from 1 to 10 Ramadan, second Ashra is from 11 to 20th Ramadan, while the third one is from 21 to 30 Ramadan.

First Ashra of Ramadan:

First Ten Days of Ramadan are the days of Mercy and every person or Muslim must seek the mercy of Almighty Allah in these days. The dua for the first Ashra is:
Dua for ist ashra of Ramadan
"O the Living, O the Eternal, I seek help in Your mercy."
Second Ashra of Ramadan:
Second Ashra of Ramadan consists of the second ten days, it is the time of forgiveness. These are the days of forgiveness and a Muslim must seek for the forgiveness from Almighty Allah and repent for all his sins.
The dua for second Ashra is:
Dua for second ashra of ramadan
"O the Living, O the Eternal, I seek help in Your mercy."
Middle Ashra of month of Ramadan is a time for Maghfirah. The second Ashra is a time where the forgiveness of Almighty Allah is at its peak, and this is the best time for asking about forgiveness for all the sins from Almighty Allah. Always ask for forgiveness from Almighty Allah in all these days. Do make sure to not repeat the sins after you have done Tauba. Do Tauba as many times as possible, because Allah Almighty loves Tauba during this period and forgives the one who seeks for his forgiveness. Forgive all your beloved in these days as Allah Almighty loves Maghfirah.
Third Ashra of Ramadan:
In the end Ramadan is about seeking Refuge in Almighty Allah from Hellfire. And everyone must pray that “O Almighty Allah, save me from the fire of Hell”.
The dua for third Ashra is:
Dua for 3rd ashra of ramadan
"O Allah! Save me from the fire."
The last ten days of Ramadan are third Ashra and are very superior and important as the Lailatul Qadar also falls in the last Ashra.  Most of the Muslims also practice Ihtikaf in the last ten days. A Muslim must not waste the last ten nights of Ashra and work hard in worshipping Almighty Allah. The best way for practicing Ihtikaf is one on which a person stays in the mosque and seeks pardon from Almighty Allah for all his sins.
The Prophet (P.B.U.H) said:
“It (Ramadan) is the month, whose beginning is mercy, its middle forgiveness and its end emancipation from the fire (of hell)”.

15 Easy Things To Do In "Ramadan"

1. Sitting after Fajr remembering Allah until sunrise:“Whoever prays fajr in congregation, then sits remembering Allah until sunrise, then prays 2 rakats of salat has a complete reward of (Nafil) Hajj and Umrah. (The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) repeated the word ‘complete’ 3 times for emphasis) [Tirmidhi]

2. A house in Jannah for praying 12 Sunnah each day:“Allah will build house in Jannah for whoever is diligent in obsering 12 sunnah rakat (as follows) 4 rakat before and 2 after Dhur, 2 after the Maghrib, 2 after Ishaa, and 2 before Fajr.” [Tirmidhi]

3. Attending lectures in the Masjid.“Whoever goes to the mosque not desiring except to learn or teach what is good has the reward of a pilgrim who completed his Hajj”[Tabarani]...men only.

4. Visiting a sick Muslim.“There is no Muslim who visits a sick muslim early in the morning but 70 thousand angles send blessings upon him until evening comes, and if he visits him in the evening, 70 thousand angles send blessings upon him until morning comes, and he will have a garden in paradise.” [Tirmidhi]

5. Providing food for breaking the fast.“Whoever provides food for breaking of the fast for a fasting person receives the reward of the fasting person, without the reward of the fasting person being reduced in any way.” [Tirmidhi & Ibn Majah]

6. Standing in prayer on Laylatul Qadr.“Laylatul Qadr is better than a thousand months.” [Quran 97:3]So it is, superior to approx 83 years of worship! Subhaanallah most do not even live for that long!

7. Millions of Good deeds remembering Allah whilst shopping:“Whoever enters a market and says:‘Laa ilaha illallah wahdahu la shareeka lah, lahul mulku wa lahul hamdu yuhyi wa yumeetu wa huwa hayyun laa yamoot, bi yadihil khair, wa huwa ‘ala kulli shayin qadeer’[There is nothing worthy of worship except Allah, alone without partner, to Him belongs dominion and praise, He causes life and feath and He is the Living and does not die. In His Hand is all the good, and He is over all things competent] … Allah will write for him/her a million good deeds and erase a million bad deeds and raise him a million levels.” [Tirmidhi]

8. That Which Shall Have no Equal on the Day of Resurrection:Abu Huraira (RA) narrated that the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said:”Whoever says one hundred times in a day:“La ilaha illal-lah wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahu-l-mulk wa lahu-l-hamd wa huwa ‘ala kulli shai’in qadir,”{”None has the right to be worshipped but Allah, the Alone Who has no partners, to Him belongs Dominion and to Him belong all the Praises, and He has power over all things (i.e. Omnipotent)”,}he will get the same reward as given for manumitting ten slaves; and one hundred good deeds will be written in his accounts, and one hundred sins will be deducted from his accounts, and it (his saying) will be a shield for him from Satan on that day till night, and nobody will be able to do a better deed except the one who does more than he.” [Bukhari,Book #75, Hadith #412]

9. Asking Allah to forgive ALL Muslims.“Whoever seeks forgiveness for beleiving men and believing woman, Allah will write for him a good deed for each believing man and believing woman.” [Tabarani]That is a reward for EVERY believer we make dua for. Since it is Ramadan then we get 70 good deeds for every believer we make dua for. So for simple dua taking a few seconds will give us BILLIONS of good deeds! Subhaanallah!

10. Forgiveness like the foam of the sea:- Abu Hurayrah (RA) narrated that the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: ‘Whoever says: Subhanallah wa bi hamdih (Praise and glory be to Allah)100 times, morning and evening, his sins will be erased even if they are like the foam on the sea.” [Bukhari]- Jaa’bir (RA) narrated that the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said:“For the person who recites: SUB-HAN’ALLAH HIL AZEEM WA BI-HAM’DIHI, (Pure and perfect is Allah in his glory and praise) –A date palm will be planted for him in Paradise” [Tirmidhi]

11. Thousand Good deeds in 2 MinutesIf a person says “Subhanallah” (glory be to Allah) 100 times, a thousand good deeds are recorded for him and a thousand bad deeds are wiped away. [Muslim]

12. Being pleased on the Day of Resurrection:Allah has promised that anyone who says this three times every morning or evening will be pleased on the Day of Resurrection:“رَضِيتُ باللهِ رَبَّاً، وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِيناً، وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ صَلَى اللهُ عَلِيهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَبِيَّاً”.Radheetu billaahi Rabban, wa bil-’Islaami deenan, wa bi-Muhammadin (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallama) Nabiyyan.I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, with Islam as my religion and with Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) as my Prophet. [Fortress of the Muslim]

13. Reciting three phrases heavy on the scales:Juwairiyah bint Al-Harith reported: The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) came out from my apartment in the morning as I was busy in performing the dawn prayer. He came back in the forenoon and found me sitting there and said,”Are you still in the same position as I left you.” I replied in the affirmative. Thereupon the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said, “I recited four phrases three times after I had left you. If these are to be weighed against all you have recited since morning, these will be heavier. These are:Subhan-Allah wa bihamdihi, ‘adada khalqihi, wa rida-a nafsihi, wa zinatah ‘arshihi, wa midada kalimatihi{Allah is free from imperfection and I begin with His praise, as many times as the number of His creatures, in accordance with His Good Pleasure, equal to the ink that may be used in recording the words (for His Praise).” [Muslim]

14. A Rare treasure of Paradise:Abu Dharr (RA) narrated that Rasulallah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “Should I not tell you of one treasure of the unlimited treasures of Paradise?” I replied spontaneously “Oh Rasulallah that would be an honour indeed!” Rasulallah (Sallallahu Alaihi wasallam) said: “That rare treasure is: LA HAWLA WA LA QUWWATA ILLA BILLAH.”(“The strength to do good and to refrain from evil comes from the grace and mercy of Allah!”) [Ibn Majah]

15. Beautiful Supplication for Forgiveness:Shaddad bin Aus (RA) narrates that the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said:“The best supplication for seeking forgiveness (Syed-ul-Istighfar) is to say:`Allahumma Anta Rabbi, la ilaha illa Anta, khalaqtani wa ana `abduka, wa ana `ala `ahdika wa wa`dika mastata`tu, a`udhu bika min sharri ma sana`tu, abu‘u laka bini`matika `alayya, wa abu‘u bidhanbi faghfir li, fa innahu la yaghfirudh-dhunuba illa Anta.(O Allah! You are my Rubb. There is no true god except You. You have created me, and I am Your slave, and I hold to Your Covenant as far as I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge the favours that You have bestowed upon me, and I confess my sins. Pardon me, for none but You has the power to pardon).’He who supplicates in these terms during the day with firm belief in it and dies on the same day (before the evening), he will be one of the dwellers of Jannah; and if anyone supplicates in these terms during the night with firm belief in it and dies before the morning, he will be one of the dwellers of Jannah.” [Al-Bukhari].

16 Things You Can Do On The Night Of Power In "Ramadan"

Laylatul Qadr (the Night of Power) is described in the Quran as, "better than a thousand months" (97:3). Any action done on this night such as reciting the Quran, remembering Allah, etc. is better than acting for one thousand months which do not contain the night of Qadr..
Allah's Messenger used to exert himself in devotion during the last ten nights to a greater extent than at any other time." (Muslim). Allah's peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet.
Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, related that the Prophet said: Look for Laylatul Qadr on an odd-numbered night during the last ten nights of Ramadan (Bukhari).
The Prophet said: "Whoever prays during the night of Qadr with faith and hoping for its reward will have all of his previous sins forgiven." (Bukhari and Muslim recorded from Abu Huraira).
Here are some tips of things we can do on the Night of Power and the time before and after it.

1. Take a vacation for Allah

We take a break from our jobs for almost everything in life. Why not this time to focus on worshiping and thanking our Creator.
If this is not possible at least take a few days off if you can. This can make it easier to stay awake at night to do extra Ibadah, not having to worry about getting to work the next day.
It will also facilitate doing Itikaf.

2. Do Itikaf

It was a practice of the Prophet to spend the last ten days and nights of Ramadan in the masjid for Itikaf.
Those in Itikaf stay in the masjid all this time, performing various forms of zikr (the remembrance of Allah), like doing extra Salat, recitation and study of the Quran. They do not go outside the masjid except in case of emergencies, therefore, they sleep in the masjid. Their families or the masjid administration takes care of their food needs.
Itikaf of a shorter period of time, like one night, a day or a couple of days is encouraged as well.

3. Make this special Dua

Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, said: I asked the Messenger of Allah: 'O Messenger of Allah, if I know what night is the night of Qadr, what should I say during it?' He said: 'Say: O Allah, You are pardoning and You love to pardon, so pardon me.' "(Ahmad, Ibn Majah, and Tirmidhi).
The transliteration of this Dua is "Allahumma innaka `afuwwun tuhibbul `afwa fa`fu `annee"

4. Recite the Quran

Perhaps you can choose Surahs or passages from the Quran which you have heard in Tarawih this past Ramadan to recite.
If you attend a class where the recitation of the Quran is taught, this is a great time to put your knowledge into practice.

5. Reflect on the meaning of the Quran

Choose the latest Surah or Surahs you've heard in Tarawih and read their translation and Tafseer. Then think deeply about their meaning and how it affects you on a personal level.
(If you want to study the Quran with more understanding, check out Way to the Quran and Access to Quranic Arabic.

6. Get your sins wiped out

Abu Huraira narrated that the Messenger said: Whoever stands (in prayer) in Laylatul Qadr while nourishing his faith with self-evaluation, expecting reward from Allah, will have all of his previous sins forgiven. [Bukhari and Muslim).
Don't just pray using the shorter Surahs that you know. Try to make your prayers longer, deeper and meaningful. If you are familiar with longer Surahs, read the translation and explanation and then pray reciting these Surahs, carefully reflecting on the meaning while you pray.
Even if you are only familiar with the shorter Surahs, read the translation and explanation beforehand, and then pray reflecting on the message of the Surahs.
This is a good way to develop the habit of concentration, even in regular prayers, where many of us tend to be fidgety and/or easily distracted.

7. Make a personal Dua list.

Ask yourself what you really want from Allah. Make a list of each and everything, no matter how small or how big it is, whether it deals with this world or not. Allah loves to hear from us. Once this list is ready, you can do three things:
  • Ask Allah to give you those things
  • Think about what actions you have taken to get those things
  • Develop a work plan to get those things in future.

8. Evaluate yourself.

Ask yourself those questions that need to be asked. Do an evaluation of where you are and where you are going. Let this evaluation lead you to feel happiness for the good you have done and remorse for the bad you have done. (see a short and a long evaluation guide) This latter feeling should make it easier to seek Allah's sincere forgiveness when making the Dua mentioned in tip number one above.

9. Make long, sincere and deep Duas

One of the best times to do this is during the last part of the night.
Abu Huraira, may Allah be pleased with him, related that the Prophet said: When the last one-third of the night remains, our Lord, the Glorious One descends towards the heaven of the earth and proclaims: Who is that who supplicates for Me, and I grant his supplication? Who is that who begs Me for anything and I grant it to him? And who is that who seeks My forgiveness, and I forgive him? (Bukhari, Muslim).
That means for instance, waking up one hour before Suhoor time to ask Allah for anything and everything you want that is Halal. This can be done using the Duas of the Sunnah, but also Dua in your own language, with sincerity and conviction.
For some tips on making Dua please see the article Some personal Duas you can make.

10. Memorize a different Dua every night

They don't have to be long. They can be just one line. And be sure to know what they mean generally at least, even if you don't know the exact translation in English.
You can put them on index cards (or and keep them with you during the day, glancing at them during work, while driving, waiting in line, etc.) Then practice them at night in prayer.

11. Have Iftar with the family

If you've spent Iftar time on weekdays in your cubicle at work alone with a couple of dates, now is the last few days you'll have this Ramadan to spend with your family. Use it wisely.

12. Take the family to Tarawih

Have your spouse and kids missed Tarawih most of Ramadan because you weren't there to drive them to the Masjid, which is too far away to walk to? If so, do all of yourselves a favor and bring everyone for Tarawih in these last ten nights.

13. Attend the Dua after the completion of Quran recitation

Almost all Masjids where the Imam aims to finish an entire reading of the Quran in Tarawih prayers in Ramadan will be completing their recitation in these last ten nights. They may try to end on one of the odd nights and read the Dua at the end of a reading of the Quran. Attend this particular night's Tarawih prayer with your family. See if you can attend different Masjids' Tarawih prayers the night they finish reading the Quran.

14. Finish reading a book on the Prophet

Read about the Prophet's life, which can increase your love for him and Islam by seeing how much he struggled for Allah's sake. It may inspire you to push yourself even harder during these last ten nights. This community is built on sacrifice.

15. Plan for the next year

Once you've done a self-evaluation, you can plan on where you want to go, at least in the next 12 months. Laylatul Qadr is a great night to be thinking about this (without taking away from your worship), since you'll Insha Allah, be in a more contemplative state. You may choose to dedicate one night of power for evaluation and one night for planning for the next year.

16. To do list for the Night of Power

Make a to do checklist for each Night of Power. This should define how you would like your night, the one better than a thousand months, to be used. Pick things from this list and define the sequence you would like to do things in. This will help you avoid wasting your time in unproductive chats which common in the festive atmosphere of Masjids at the Night of Power.

The Spiritual And Health Benefits Of "Ramadan" Fasting

At the onset of Ramadan Muslims all over the world start fasting from dawn to dusk daily for 30 days as ordained in Quran.
"O you who believe fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you so that you can learn Taqwa" (Quran 2:183)
The Arabic word Taqwa is translated in many ways including God consciousness, God fearing, piety, and self restraining. Thus we are asked to fast daily for one month from dawn to dusk and avoid food, water, sex and vulgar talk during that period.
At the onset of Ramadan Muslims all over the world start fasting from dawn to dusk daily for 30 days as ordained in Quran.
"O you who believe fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you so that you can learn Taqwa" (Quran 2:183)

Medical benefits of Ramadan

Muslims do not fast because of medical benefits which are of a secondary nature. Fasting has been used by patients for weight management, to rest the digestive tract and for lowering lipids. There are many adverse effects of total fasting as well as of crash diets. Islamic fasting is different from such diet plans because in Ramadan fasting, there is no malnutrition or inadequate calorie intake. The calorie intake of Muslims during Ramadan is at or slightly below the nutritional requirement guidelines. In addition, the fasting in Ramadan is voluntarily taken and is not a prescribed imposition from the physician.
Ramadan is a month of self-regulation and self training, with the hope that this training will last beyond the end of Ramadan. Ramadan does not have any selective criteria of crash diets such as those which are protein only or fruit only type diets. Everything that is permissible is taken in moderate quantities.
The difference between Ramadan and total fasting is the timing of the food; during Ramadan, we basically miss lunch and take an early breakfast and do not eat until dusk. Abstinence from water for 8 to 10 hours is not necessarily bad for health and in fact, it causes concentration of all fluids within the body, producing slight dehydration. The body has its own water conservation mechanism; in fact, it has been shown that slight dehydration and water conservation, at least in plant life, improve their longevity.
The physiological effect of fasting includes lowering of blood sugar, lowering of cholesterol and lowering of the systolic blood pressure. In fact, Ramadan fasting would be an ideal recommendation for the treatment of mild to moderate, stable, non-insulin diabetes, obesity, and essential hypertension. In 1994 the first International Congress on "Health and Ramadan", held in Casablanca, entered 50 extensive studies on the medical ethics of fasting. While improvement in many medical conditions was noted; however, in no way did fasting worsen any patients' health or their baseline medical condition.
There are psychological effects of fasting as well. There is a peace and tranquility for those who fast during the month of Ramadan. Personal hostility is at a minimum, and the crime rate decreases. Muslims take advice from the Prophet who said, "If one slanders you or aggresses against you, say I am fasting."
This psychological improvement could be related to better stabilization of blood glucose during fasting as hypoglycemia after eating, aggravates behavior changes. There is a beneficial effect of extra prayer at night. This not only helps with better utilization of food but also helps in energy output. There are 10 extra calories output for each unit of the prayer. Again, we do not do prayers for exercise, but a mild movement of the joints with extra calorie utilization is a better form of exercise. Similarly, recitation of the Quran not only produces a tranquility of heart and mind, but improves the memory.
One of the odd nights in the last 10 days of Ramadan is called the night of power when angels descend down, and take the prayer of worship to God for acceptance.
Fasting is a special act of worship which is only between humans and God since no one else knows for sure if this person is actually fasting. Thus God says in a hadith qudsi that "Fasting is for Me and I only will reward it". In another hadith, the Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) has said "If one does not give up falsehoods in words and actions, God has no need of him giving up food and drink".
